Why Thursday Is The Best Day To List Your Home
Here’s why I always recommend my clients list their homes on Thursday.
Which day of the week is best to list your home? It may seem like it doesn’t matter, but it could end up making the difference between getting top dollar or not.
In our experience, Thursday is the best day of the week to list your home. Why is that? There are a couple of important reasons:
1. Online home searches peak on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We want your listing to be fresh for all the weekend shoppers. With fewer days on market, buyers are more likely to seriously consider your home. Things are moving so fast today that some people are even beginning to look at homes on Thursday evening to beat the rush!
2. We give our sellers the right not to respond to any offers until Monday. This makes sure our sellers don’t feel any pressure to accept an offer prematurely. Your home will have the entire weekend to rack up offers, then you can review them at your leisure on Monday.
3. Open houses are still effective. If you list on Thursday, this gives us time to set up an open house for Saturday or Sunday. This is a surefire method to have more buyers view your home, so we always recommend holding an open house.
With fewer days on market, buyers are more likely to seriously consider your home.
