4 Reasons to Sell Your Home Now
Our current market presents some excellent opportunities for sellers.
There are four key reasons why I believe that right now is one of the best times to list your home for sale:
1. There is currently a build-up of buyers in the market. Each year between December and February, a certain number of buyers put their home searches on hold. That pool builds up until around this time, and as inventory comes onto the market, buyers are ready to leap on homes they like.
2. Many buyers have extra cash right now. As it’s tax season, it’s common for homebuyers to have extra money on hand (not to mention the stimulus checks most people received). That means they’re in a better position to buy since they’ll have more cash for a down payment.
3. Interest rates are at an all-time low. Low interest rates increases buyer purchasing power and lowers their monthly payments.
4. Inventory is incredibly low. It’s the lowest we’ve seen over the last 15 to 20 years. Coming out of the ‘08 and ’09 recession, we had about eight or nine months of inventory on hand. Between 2014 and 2015, we had around 4.5 months of inventory. Coming into the current year, inventory dropped below two months. That means, based on our high demand, you have an excellent opportunity to maximize your value.
